I wanted to become a doctor to help people. I quickly realized that people's health is determined more by their access to care, healthy food, education, a safe living environment, and employment than by which doctor they see. I am running for Congress to advocate for my patients.

I believe that you cannot really understand something unless you have lived it. I come from a working-class immigrant family. My family received food stamps and stood in bread lines. With a network of support and hard work, I have been able to study medicine and help people. I am in a unique position to understand the opportunities and challenges America faces. Together, we can bridge this gap and make this a better place for future generations.
